Position Objective:


The Production Operator is responsible for running specified equipment and contributing skills and expertise to the production line to run efficiently and effectively. The Operator position duties are an essential part of our day-to-day operation; learning and applying established practices and established standards is paramount. As a member of the production team, Operators take an active role in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity, and must insist on team accountability and trust.

Key Result Areas:

Performance Standards


Follow all food safety and operating procedures as outlined by the Company's standards, including start-up, change-overs, shutdown, and safe operation of production machinery

Production duties include scaling/staging, loading/mixing, packaging, pallet loading and preparation of finished goods

Ensure critical control points are checked on all required equipment


Ensure scheduled sanitation of production area is being conducted, including daily, weekly, monthly and annual cleanings


Ensure FIFO procedures are followed

Practice warehouse management "best practices"


Safety is mandatory and top priority for personal safety and the safety of others

Complete any and all forms, checklists and documentation required by Company policies and procedures

Help endorse and maintain a safe culture at all times


Produce quality products in a manner that meets production targets and complies with the Company's food safety, quality standards and safety guidelines

A combination of the listed skills and knowledge is preferred


High School diploma or equivalent is required

Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, fractions and percentages

Written and oral English Communication

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Knowledge of stand-up forklift, sit down forklift and scissor lift

Biochemical process and/or Food manufacturing experience

PC skills in Word and Excel

Working Conditions


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk, hear and smell. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to airborne particles and chemicals. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.  The employee frequently works in high places and is infrequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.

Other Factors

Ability to work 40 hours per week and able to work overtime and Saturdays, as needed
